Anunţul, făcut prin intermediul unui mesaj publicat pe reţeaua de socializare X (cunoscută până de curând sub numele de Twitter), intervine la doar câteva zile după ce India a devenit prima ţară din lume care a plasat cu succes un vehicul spaţial la polul sudic al Lunii, o regiune până acum neexplorată.
